Standard Warranty

All Part Replacements we perform have a One Year Limited Parts and Workmanship Warranty.

If the repair failed due to workmanship, we will perform the repair again at no charge for one year from date of repair for the original owner.
If the repair failed due to a complication from another problem within the system, new charges will apply. *

All new Ruud/Rheem® equipment we install comes with a 10 Year Limited Parts Warranty from the manufacturer, and our One Year Limited Labor Warranty. Equipment must be registered by purchaser online at within 60 days of installation, and maintenance performed per manufacturer recommendations.

*Please keep in mind, it is not uncommon for mechanical equipment to have multiple problems happening in various degrees at the same time. One part could be completely seized, while another is just beginning to fail, or another defective part actually caused the failure of the seized part. Therefore, it is often necessary to repair one problem before the other issues can be detected. When we repair or replace a part and it restores your equipment to running condition, there is a possibility that your system could still need further repairs in the near future. If this happens, it is not a sign the equipment was not repaired correctly, but that secondary issues were not completely visible at that time. Unfortunately, HVAC systems are degenerative pieces of equipment, and as they near the end of their life span, more and more repairs will be needed. When expensive repairs start to happen frequently, we recommend considering replacing the system with new equipment.

Limited Labor Warranty

The Limited Labor Warranty covers normal labor charges for repair work on the Ruud/Rheem equipment or boilers installed by Quality West Heating & Cooling (if the labor is performed by Quality West Heating & Cooling) while owned by the original purchaser, and during normal business hours. Warranty is effective on the date of installation, and ends on the anniversary date of the installation one year later, or for the number of years stated on the installation agreement.

Warranty Limitations: does not cover damage caused by water, fire, weather, natural disaster, acts of God, vandalism, theft, operator error, misuse or neglect. Does not cover cost of repairs performed by other companies, and warranty coverage may be denied as a result of other contractors working on the equipment. Warranty is non-transferable.

It is required that purchaser have the system(s) serviced annually to properly maintain and prevent damage to equipment, which could result in denial of warranty coverage based on neglect of system. Proof of maintenance may be required.

Service agreements are available for an additional charge which provide discounted annual servicing of equipment. It is also required that filters be changed per manufacturer specifications to keep warranty valid.

If purchaser experiences a problem with the equipment, they are to notify Quality West Heating & Cooling, and we will dispatch a technician to perform a diagnostic. If the problem is unfounded, due to operator error or deemed to be as a result of situations excluded by warranty limitations, purchaser will be charged current company rates for a diagnostic service call, plus the fees for any repairs necessary to restore equipment to proper working order. The minimum charge for a diagnostic service call will be $99.00 (after- hours $149.00), and is subject to change without notice.

Extended Warranty

We offer 2, 5 and 10 year Extended Labor Warranties through Protection Plus® . This warranty is available for purchase through Quality West up to 1 year from date of equipment installation. Call our office at 303-522-9597 for current plan details and rates.

As good as your new Rheem equipment is, however, problems can sometimes occur. With our Protection Plus® Extended Service Agreement program, you can protect yourself from unexpected, un-budgeted repairs after the limited warranty expires. Protection Plus allows you to extend the limited warranty on your Rheem equipment up to 10 years, depending on which plan you choose. Coverage begins on the expiration date of your Rheem limited warranty.

With Protection Plus you can relax and enjoy the comfort provided by your Rheem comfort solutions, instead of worrying about the cost of unexpected repairs. Optional equipment such as humidifiers, thermostats, condensate pump and electronic air cleaners can also be covered. If purchased in conjunction with your contractor’s maintenance program, Protection Plus gives you peace of mind that your heating and air conditioning equipment will be professionally maintained and repaired.

Q. What is covered?

A. Depending on which coverage type is chosen, parts and/or labor will be covered for mechanical and electrical failures contained within the equipment, including the compressor and heat exchanger. Regular maintenance must be performed to maintain coverage.

Q. What is not covered?

A. Any repair due to damage of equipment; components of your HVAC system contained outside of the covered equipment; required maintenance; or any overtime charges for a covered mechanical repair. See terms and conditions for full details.

Q. Are there any coverage limits?

A. There is no limit to the number of claims you can submit; however, the limit of liability is reached when the repairs/replacement equal the replacement co

Q. Can I transfer this agreement if I sell my home?

A. Yes, for a minimal charge of $25 within 30-days of the closing of the sale of your home.

Q. Who is eligible to apply?

A. You are eligible to apply as long as you have purchased and had your HVAC equipment installed by a Rheem Protection Plus® Dealer within 12 months.

Q. When will I be covered?

A. If you purchased coverage within 12 months of installation, labor coverage will begin 31 days after installation or after the date of purchase, whichever date occurs last. If coverage was purchased after 12 months of age, there is a 90 day wait period, from the date of purchase, beofre coverage will take effect. Parts coverage begins the first day of the 6th year after the standard Manufacturer’s warranty ends

Q. What if I’m not satisfied?

A. You may cancel this agreement for any reason during the first 30 days after it is issued to obtain a full refund of the purchase price. After the first 30 days you may cancel this agreement and receive a prorated refund based on the time remaining on your plan, less the value of any services or claims that have been provided or paid. An administration fee will also apply.
